Herc is In His Happy Place
Yesterday I spent close to 30 minutes looking for little Hercules only to find him passed out under the covers on the bed with a big doxie smile on his face.

Hercules loves nothing more than getting the cat's leftover food. Once he's cleaned the plate, he shreds it into tiny pieces and leaves it for me to clean up.
Hank used to be the puppy of the pack, but at 14, he's now the old dog. Here he is in his favorite spot on the back of the couch. Groggy, but alert for food.
Dachshunds are awesome, but they can be easy targets for animals like coyotes unless you've got a pack mate that's a mastiff. Then the coyote needs to look out.
An old photo when my pack were all still babies, sitting on the bed enjoying the late afternoon sunlight. Monkey somehow got the rawhide, which never happens.
Franzi and Montgomery hunting together in a ground squirrel burrow. Franzi digs and flushes them from one end and Montgomery waits to grab them at the other.
I heard Franzi's "hunting" bark coming from near the chicken coop. I found her preventing a gopher snake from getting in to eat the eggs. Good girl Franzi!
I told Hercules the dog treat bag was empty, but, based on the look on his face, I can tell that he doesn't believe me.
We got new cushions for the chaise lounges. Now, Her Most Serene Royal Chocolate Highness, Franzi the Sun Queen, is holding court on her new throne.
Monkey was burrowed so far into the blankets that, had it not been for being short one dachshund at breakfast, he might have kept on dozing right up until noon
