Not a Graceful Couch Dismount

Hercules oozing his way off the couch to avoid waking Hank

The dachshunds enjoy sitting on the back of the couch in the family room because it gives them an unobstructed view all the way from the front yard to the kitchen.

Hercules has finally figured out how to get up there, but he’s still not quite certain how to get down gracefully. Rather than hopping off like Hank, Herc has to sort of ooze his way off the back and onto the couch seat.

The problem is, sometimes he sort of gets stuck. In this case, Hank was asleep on the couch and Herc didn’t want to roll his butt off and risk waking Hank up, because Hank can be quite grumpy when his nap is interrupted.

So Hercules laid there like this until he worked up the nerve to continue oozing off the couch and onto the floor.
