Dachshund vs Rattlesnake

Dachshunds really are fearless. I came upon Franzi (my chocolate doxie) barking up a storm and bobbing and weaving around a rattlesnake.
The snake struck several times but Franzi was able to jump out of the way like a mongoose.
Fortunately, my husband came along with a shovel and ended the match before Franzi got hurt.

Franzi insisted on sitting with the dead snake for a while though. Her uncle Rommel showed up to take a look too.
