Old World Village

7461 Center Ave, Huntington Beach, CA (map)

We’ll be set up near the race track!

Finally OC Doxies will be meeting at Old World Village in Huntington Beach for some fun doxie races on German Heritage Day! Inge from the wiener dog store is helping OC Doxies have a great time.

If you’d like to race the special OC Doxie fee is $8 (usually $16) and you need to call Inge to pre-register. Her number is 714-402-7327. You must call before Sunday July 14th to register to race your doxie! Each OC Doxie member that RSVP’s will get 2 free tickets (normally $2 per spectator) to watch the races. To pick up the spectator tickets and to check in for the race you must go to Inge’s store #38 (aka Paws at the Coffee Mill). You must be there at 2pm to check in for the race and the races usually run until around 4-4:30pm. Don’t be late!

We’ll be there with our usual gate set up to let the doxies play as well! Food and beverages will be available around Old World Village for purchase. It’ll be a fun day.

Small donations you can give are very helpful… We’re looking for ways to expand and cover fees for website as well as come up with fun activities! You can now make donations through paypal on our website as well.

Don’t forget to RSVP, Thanks!

Every meetup will be held at a different time and place each month so hopefully it gives everyone a chance to attend. We hope to see you there and don’t forget to tell all of your doxie friends!

Doxies in the Balboa Island Parade

Group of wiener dogs- OC Doxie Sign

Our doxies are invited to walk in the Balboa Island Parade, Sunday, June 2nd. It was such a blast last year we’d like to make it a yearly tradition! We’ll be meeting around 10:00am on Bayside Drive to line up- we’ll our announce our group # in line once we get it. Each group gets assigned numbers the day of the event so we won’t know until we get there, just walk down the line up to find our group. Parking will be HARD to find so get there early and plan accordingly! Balboa Island will be closed off, so you’ll have to find parking around the outskirts and walk down to the parade line up. The parade starts at 11:00am. The group will be called “The Real Wiener Dogs of Orange County”. Feel free to dress them up however you’d like, the funnier the better!

Thank you to Cristy Fischbeck for inviting us to join her and signing up a group for the wiener dogs! Anyone with any questions about the parade can either email her at or call her at (949) 244-8245. If you get lost the day of she’s the one to call as well since she’s done the parade many times already. Remember, get there early, the parade must go on!

Obie, the obese Dachshund has lost over 40 pounds. What a wonderful family he has to take great care of him. I posted about Obie some time ago and thought it was time for a follow up.
